This was likely the most memorable travel experience I’ve had. The daily physical challenge, the breathtaking beauty of Mont Blanc and surrounding peaks, and the camaraderie of the group of new hiking friends made the experience exceptional. The logistics supporting the trip were flawless!

Had an amazing time and felt so lucky to get such an amazing group of people and fantastic guides (Sam and Yan)! The scenery is beautiful and the hikes are challenging but so rewarding! Would absolutely recommend to others.

When I signed up for the TMB trip, I was not really sure what exactly to expect for the hiking or the organization. Melanie was absolutely awesome managing expectations of both. She sent along all the information needed to prepare effectively for this challenging but rewarding trek. I live at sea level, and while I found some of the long, steep parts tough, what I was able to do to prepare, helped me complete each day with a sense of accomplishment. Our group was fantastic and everyone got along, telling stories, laughing, and cheering each other on all day long. Our guide Yan was excellent. He really knew his stuff and was able to tell us about the areas we hiked through as well as presenting history about the region. When stopping for lunch or snacks, he would whip out a cutting board filled with cheese (still don't know where he kept his cutting board!). And of course there was Sam...our logistics person. He made sure all our accomodations were ready, our meals were paid for, our lunches were ready, and most importantly, he brought up the rear and talked me through those tough climbs. I am so grateful for the opportunity to complete this trip. It was not even on my radar until my friend invited me along. One of the best and most challenging trips I have ever taken and I am so glad I was able to get in on it. Thank you Melanie, Yan, Sam, my group of Mother Trekkers, and all our new friends. What a fantastic experience.

Travel Light’s Guatemala Volcano Adventure fully delivered, and then some! I’ve now taken several trips with them, and Melanie and Enzo consistently run thoughtful, well-organized experiences that feel both structured and personal. What sets Travel Light apart is the attention to the group. The hotels are carefully curated, the activities feel intentional (cooking classes, special dinners, excellent local guides), and there’s a steady, positive tone that carries through the entire trip. The Acatenango Volcano hike (the centerpiece of this trip) is no joke. It’s a demanding climb with real elevation and altitude gain. What made it work was the group dynamic they fostered. With a mix of ages and experience levels, everyone felt supported and able to go at their own pace. When we reached base camp, low fog rolled in and it looked like we might miss the volcano views entirely. Instead of frustration, the group leaned in with games, conversation, a lot of laughing. Then the weather shifted, and we ended up with clear views of the volcano erupting. Totally worth the climb. Adventure travel has both highs and lows. Travel Light handles each of them well and keeps the experience positive from start to finish. I’d travel with them again without hesitation.

I just returned from my 2nd amazing trip with Melanie and Travel Light! Last November I joined Melanie on a women's trip to Morocco - it was magical and truly an experience of a lifetime. This past week I returned from a hiking adventure with Melanie to Guatemala. I have ALREADY signed up for three more trips with Travel Light for this year and next year! I can't say enough about my experience with Travel Light! Melanie does a fantastic job curating an active itinerary which takes into consideration local/family-owned providers and authentic cultural experiences. Travel groups are kept small which helps facilitate camaraderie and keeps me from feeling overlooked. She's incredible organized and provides her travelers with detailed packing lists and itineraries to help us come prepared for all our actives. She's communicative and accessible leading up to the trip and throughout the adventure. She has a pragmatic, friendly approach to travel. She encourages each and every member of the tour to pursue experiences out of their comfort zones and revel in the accomplishment after! Unfortunately, this past trip I got food poisoning prior to joining up with the Travel Light tour. Even though I wasn't officially part of the group yet, Melanie came to my rescue ensuring I had appropriate medical care. She then supported me the days following when I still didn't feel great but was determined to hike! Many of her clients (like myself) are repeat devotees (aka participants) - that in itself should tell you she runs a great trip!
