Seven days. 70 miles. Three countries. One unforgettable adventure through the Alps.
Note: This is the exact same itinerary as Trip 1.
Join Travel Light on the Tour du Mont Blanc, hiking approximately 70 miles through France, Italy, and Switzerland on one of the world's most iconic long-distance trails. Cross mountain passes, hike through alpine valleys, stay in remote mountain refugios, and experience some of the most incredible scenery in Europe.
This adventure begins and ends in Chamonix, France, where you'll meet your fellow travelers, host, and guide, and get ready to take on the Alps together.
Our itinerary covers approximately 70 miles of the 105-mile TMB loop and includes 4 nights in family-owned mountain refugios and 5 nights in hotels. In the refugios, you'll stay in shared dorm rooms and enjoy the classic hut-to-hut experience: hearty mountain meals, hot showers, communal dinners, and the chance to make new friends from around the world. Luggage transfer is included on all but one day, so you'll experience hut-to-hut trekking without carrying all of your gear on your back.
And then there's one of our favorite parts: a full spa recovery day in Courmayeur, Italy, included with your trip. After four days of hiking, you'll trade your hiking clothes for a bathrobe and spend the day soaking, relaxing, and recovering before returning to the trail. This is something you won't find on other TMB group trips.

The Tour du Mont Blanc is a challenging multi-day trek with significant elevation gain and loss. Over 7 days of hiking, expect approximately 6 to 12 miles per day and 7 to 10 hours on the trail each day. Daily elevation gain and descent can reach up to approximately 4,300 feet. The terrain varies throughout the trek and includes rocky, uneven mountain trails; steep climbs and descents; roots; and potentially wet or muddy conditions.
This trip is best for intermediate hikers and above. Multi-day trekking experience is not required, but prior hiking experience is. You should be comfortable hiking longer distances with significant elevation gain and loss and prepared to do so for multiple days in a row.
Signing up for this trip means committing to training and arriving physically prepared. We will provide a training guide and packing list to help you prepare, but it is your responsibility to put in the work before the trip.
Luggage transfer is included on all days except one. You are required to carry your own hiking daypack each day with your water, layers, rain gear, personal items, and anything else you’ll need on the trail. On the one day when luggage transfer is not available, you’ll also need to carry your overnight items.
Our goal is for you to arrive prepared not only to complete the trip, but also to enjoy the experience, feel strong, and take in just how incredible this trek really is.
This trip is for adventurous travelers who already enjoy hiking and are excited to challenge themselves on a multi-day trek through the Alps. You should have prior hiking experience, a good level of fitness, and be willing to train for the demands of the Tour du Mont Blanc.
This trip may be a great fit if you:
Have a solid hiking foundation. You're comfortable with longer hikes, significant elevation gain and loss, and spending several hours at a time on mountain trails.
Are ready for 7 days of hiking. You understand that the challenge isn't just one difficult day. You'll be hiking consecutive days, and you're willing to train so your body is prepared for the cumulative mileage and elevation.
Are excited about both the challenge and the experience. You're comfortable with varied mountain terrain, changing weather, and a mix of hotels and mountain refugio dorms, and you're excited to experience the Alps as part of a supportive group of travelers.

Travel Light trips are about so much more than the places we visit. They're about the people we meet, the conversations we share, and the way we show up for one another along the way. We pride ourselves on creating a connected, welcoming group experience, working with excellent local guides, sharing plenty of laughs and meaningful conversations, and supporting each other through every part of the journey.
We want these adventures to remind you how good it feels to spend time in nature, move your body, meet people who are different from you, and step outside your comfort zone. Maybe you find something you genuinely love and bring more of it into your everyday life, or maybe a stranger you meet on the trip becomes a lifelong friend and future travel buddy. Our hope is that you come home with more than incredible memories. We hope you come home inspired to spend more time doing the things that make you feel fully alive.
