Travel Light is heading back to Slovenia with a completely new itinerary created just for us. It’s designed to take you into a quieter, more local side of the country that most travelers never experience.
We’ll begin in the beautiful villages of the Škofja Loka hills, immersing ourselves in historic agricultural communities where families have connections to the land going back generations. From there, we’ll spend our days hiking peaceful trails through forests, alpine pastures, and winding river valleys, climbing high above the valleys for incredible views across the surrounding mountains and stopping along the way for lunch at traditional alpine huts.
At the end of each day, we’ll slow down with river swims, homecooked food, campfires, and evenings together, staying in truly special family run accommodations with hosts who will make you feel right at home.
This is an itinerary you won’t find anywhere else. It feels like stepping into a fairy tale, and we are so excited to share it with you.
Since this trip is all about experiencing a quieter, less traveled side of Slovenia, we recommend adding a few extra days before or after to explore some of the country’s more famous destinations too.

Enjoy hiking. You’ve completed hikes of around 8 miles or more on rocky, uneven terrain with elevation gain and loss, and you know that hiking is something you enjoy.

Every trip, we're amazed and incredibly proud to see travelers step up for one another, make sure everyone is having a great time, and notice when someone needs a little extra support. Our travelers share meals, stories, encouragement, and the small moments that make an adventure unforgettable.
