France - The trail meanders down through pleasant hamlets and verdant woodland. It’s a long day but undemanding in terms of exposure and almost completely downhill, apart from the final hour ascending to Nant Borrant.

Hike from Nant Borrant to Auberge de la Nova.

France - This is a big day with two cols to climb. The descent from the Col du Croix du Bonhomme to Les Chapieux will take around 2.5 -3 hours. There are two refugios along the route to stop for a piece of pie and a beverage.

Hike from Auberge de la Nova to Cabane du Combale.

France ➡ Italy - Crossing over the Col de la Seigne from France into Italy. Stop at Refuge Mottets for a crepe and a coffee. From the top of the Col it will take an hour to get to Elisabetta, stop for a refreshment, then continue another 1 hour on a gradual downhill and flat road to Cabane Combale. Optional 20-minute hike to Lac Miage, wear your hiking shoes. Optional swim.

Hike from Cabane Combale to Courmayeur.

Italy - A demanding stage rewarded by the jaw dropping scenery of the impassable Mont Blanc massif. We start off hot with a significant elevation gain. We may have the opportunity to swim in a small lake if the weather allows. Option to take a chair lift and a gondola down to Courmayeur. Check into hotel. Dinner at your leisure.

Private transfer to spa. Spend the day unwinding at a stunning alpine spa with breathtaking mountain views. Soak in hot tubs, cycle through a variety of saunas, or sneak in a nap in one of the quiet relaxation rooms. 50-minute massage and buffet lunch included. Return by public bus to Courmayeur. Dinner at your leisure.

Hike from Hotel Croux to Chalet Val Ferret, Bus Back

Italy - Today we will hike with our daypacks from Ceourmayeur to Chalet Val Ferret and take a public bus back to Ceourmayeur. Incredible views and significant gains today! Optional stop for refreshments at two refugios along the way. Dinner at your leisure.

Transfer to Chalet Val Ferret, hike to Hotel Edelweiss.

Italy ➡ Switzerland - 8:15 AM transfer - We will take a van back near our ending point of yesterday’s hike (Chalet Val Ferret)  and continue walking. From the top of the Grand Col Ferret it’s all downhill into the Swiss Val Ferret (stop for ice cream) and to the village La Fouly. The landscape changes dramatically as you enter Switzerland. Gone are the jagged icy peaks so dramatically framing the last few days. Gentle pastures, charming hamlets and wooden chalets flying the Swiss flag greet you.

Hike from Hotel Edelweiss to Champex Lac, transfer to Chamonix

Switzerland ➡ France Today’s hike takes us to Champex Lac, a dreamy Swiss lakeside village, but not without one last giant uphill, of course! We will celebrate the completion of our trek with a dip in the lake and then take a private transport back to Chamonix at 4 PM. Check into Plan B. Final group dinner.
